With the NANO-ADL-P ICP Germany launches an EPIC board, which is equipped with the latest Intel® processor generation and offers a standard PCIe x4 expansion slot. The performance of the latest processor generation and the expandability through the standard PCIe slot are ideal prerequisites for system integrators to satisfy power-hungry applications as well as to build systems with multiple connectivity options.

ICP Germany offers two entry-level and two high-performance variants. For simple applications, the NANO-ADL-P-CC with Intel® Celeron® 7305 offers five processor cores, divided into one Performance and four Efficient cores, and a CPU clock speed of 1.1GHz. The NANO-ADL-P-i3C with Intel® Core™ i3-1215U processor offers six processor cores, two Performance and four Efficient cores, and a clock speed of up to 4.4GHz. Redundant 20-Port Gigabit Ethernet Managed Switch for Power Distribution Systems.

How does the efficiency of a power supply affect the cost of electricity?

If we consider the efficiency of a power supply with 85 percent, this means that 17.6 watts are lost for a power supply with 100 watts output power.

If we use power supplies with a higher efficiency, for example with 90 percent, the power loss is 11.1 watts. This also means that 6.5 watts less loss is dissipated to the environment as waste heat.

For an industrial PC in 24-hour operation, this means an avoidance of 56.9 kWh per year. If 100 systems are operated, we are talking about a saving of 5,694 kWh or 2084 euros at current electricity prices.

If we consider the CO2 savings, we arrive with the CO2 emission factor of 0.353 kg CO2 at an avoidance of two tons of CO2.

This calculation shows that even small steps can have a positive effect: When purchasing new electronics, not only can money be saved, but the environment is also relieved.

The IGS-9084GP-LA from ORing Industrial Networking adds a slim-type variant to ICP Germany's portfolio of managed Ethernet switches.
