Prevent data loss with powerguard

In response to the growing demand for small and compact CPU boards and systems, M.2 solid state drives (SSD) are also increasingly used in industrial environments. Because the smallest form factor M.2 (80x22x4mm) is easy to install and particularly space-saving. Similar to the mSATA form factor, users want to protect critical embedded applications from possible data loss. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is usually the solution when there are no cost or space restrictions. If these requirements are not met, the integrated powerguard function of the M.2 2280 M336 series from ICP Deutschland is a reliable alternative.

This function works like a UPS integrated in the SSD in the event of an abrupt power failure and prevents possible data loss. The integrated tantalum capacitors are permanently charged with 12V and maintain the current until all data still in the storage process of the M.2 are saved.

The M.2 SSD with power guard thus offers a clear safety advantage over conventional SSDs. In addition, the M.2 2280 M336 SSD has an 80% higher discharge time and enables a B+M key configuration.

The mass storage solution is designed as standard in capacities of 32GB~256GB for temperatures from 0° to 70°C. The M.2 SSD variant with an extended temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, however, is dedicated for harsh ambient conditions.

ICP Deutschland also offers the integrated powerguard function for mSATA and 2.5" SSDs.
