DDR5 (Double Data Rate 5) is the latest standard for RAM (Random Access Memory) and offers more storage capacity and higher transfer rates than the previous standard, DDR4. The transfer rate of DDR5 is up to 6400 MT/s (megatransfers per second), while DDR4 has a transfer rate of up to 3200 MT/s. DDR5 consumes less power than DDR4, which is beneficial for devices that rely on power savings. Industrial DDR5 RAM is designed for use in industrial applications, so it can withstand more rugged environments and higher loads. It is often operated in harsh environments and therefore must also have higher temperature resistance. Applications for industrial DDR5 RAM include machine control, transportation systems and industrial automation systems.
